My name is Emre Oktay, and I am a second-year Digital Design student at Brunel University London. I am very passionate about gaming; I have been gaming since I was about 8 years old. I have always wanted to advance toward becoming a game developer, so ever since I was young, I had an interest in most jobs that had anything to do with games. Whether the role was UI/UX related, level designer, any 3D Design role, or game testing, I was excited to learn about their responsibilities and what they do. I have an interest in all genres and platforms of gaming, I am an avid mobile, console, and PC gamer. Additionally, I also have an interest in Graphic Design which is where my creativity and design knowledge comes from. I studied Graphic Design at two university summer programs.
Throughout my undergraduate study, I gained experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. I am super excited about the idea of putting these skills into a creative environment for a company. Aside from my Adobe skills, I have also worked on various 3D projects which have given me a good amount of experience in Autodesk Maya (1+ year). Also, through the marketing projects I have done for my studies, I experienced what it is to be a part of a group working on a campaign to promote a company or product. The foundation for these skills was laid out during my foundation year at the University for the Creative Arts learning about digital media.
Outside of university, I have a passion for music, I have played the drums for 8 years. I passed the London College of Music grade 8 examination with distinction and was on track to getting a teaching license to work under my drumming instructor. I enjoy gaming in my free time, and I am always happy to go out with my friends whenever they invite me (regular activity). I also like to do activities that challenge my creativity such as making mixed Lego builds, coming up with short stories inspired by events I witness and, making drawings and illustrations (occasional).
Thank you!
